He was faithful andtrue to his church, attendingfaithfully all its services, andwas a diligent student ofGods Word. His death oc-curred May 2, WILLIAM MCOLLOCH. ft » JOSIAH MOORE. Josiah Moore, son of Joseph and Lydia Moore, and grandson ofDavid Moore, of Wilksbarre, Pa., was born at Rocky Fort, Lick-ing county, Ohio, December 10, 1810, and was about eight yearsold when his mother, Lydia, died and he was sent to live with hissister, Mrs. Patterson, in Bellefontaine. He was converted underthe preaching of Rev. Mr. Stevenson. In 1834 he was married toElizabeth Stevenson, daughter of his pastor. He joined thischurch September 30, 1831, and was elected elder November 26, 1857. Josiah Moore moved to McLean county, Illinois, in 1859;afterwards his family lived at Chenoa, Towanda, Watseka andGibson City. In nearly all these places Mr. Moore was a rul-ing elder. Mr. Moore died May 21, 1898, aged 87. He was a consistent,faithful christian man, who for a number of years desired to de- €2 PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH HISTORY.
