Acoustics research. Soap films subjected to sound waves. A tube containing soap films is connected to a small speaker emitting sound at different frequencies. The colours in the films correspond to variation in film thickness, in response to the spread of the acoustic waves. This study of the propagation of sound waves in soap films is being conducted at the raw materials and complex systems laboratory at Paris Diderot University, France.
