Genetic research. Geneticist removing a test tube containg a sample of cells from the gene bank of the Genethon laboratory, France. The cells are stored in liquid nitrogen at a very low temperature, -196 degrees Celsius. Each test tube stored contains about 1,000,000 cells. The cells were taken from patients affected by genetic diseases and will be studied in order to find the genes responsible for these disorders.
