A pair of Southern Screamers take flight, are one of the many larger birds seen along the Mutum river, ( Pousada do Rio Mutum) in the world's largest wetlands of the Pantanal in Brazil. The Southern screamer got its name because of its loud screeching noise. The Pantanal is the world’s largest wetland of 42 million acres covering parts of two neighbouring countries, Bolivia and Paraguay. Brazil has the largest area of this pristine ecosystem The vast region attracts much tourism for its abundance of wildlife, flora and rainforests which generates a lot of income into the local economy.
