There-upon it was determined to appeal to thecommunity, and a public meeting wascalled in Forsyth Street Church early inApril of the following year. The resultwas the formation of the MissionarySociety of the Methodist EpiscopalChurch, with Bishop McKendree aspresident, the Rev. Thomas Mason assecretary, and the Rev. Joshua Soule astreasurer.
