Ten of the leading bitter rot states were Vir^^inia, New Jersey, North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, I^'ississippi and Arkansas. The states showed a loss of 2,678,000 bushels from the disease in 192O. The total loss from all the states for 192O was about 2,921,000 bushels, or slightly over one percent of the crop. The loss in I919 approximated , or 2,01^,000 bushels.
