The Fourteen Articlesare given The reply from Austria was conciliatoryin tone, but Count Czernin, the minister offoreign affairs, stated emphatically thatAustria would defend the pre-war territoryof her allies as she would her own. It wasintimated that Belgium might be given up,but Alsace and Lorraine were ignored. Germanys reply, as usual, was French Armored Cruisers Janreguiberry and Houvet in Speed Trials.
