The replacer is made of cast steel andand of a design calculated to handle theheaviest equipment without damage toreplacer, and, what is more important,handle it promptly and without damageto equipment. An important advantage of this re-placer is that it provides for carrying thewheel on the tread and guiding by theflange at the critical time of starting areplacement. This avoids a very com-mon danger of broken flanges where theweight of the equipment rests solely onthe point of flange. It is positive and gradual in its action.
