All will agree that in order to successfully make photo-graphic pictures light is absolutely essential. A photograph canbe made by any kind of a pure white light whether producedas a result of the rays of the sun, or by certain artificialmeans; but for the purpose of producing technically perfectlightings certain rules must be adhered to and followed, espe-cially in the construction of a light for portraiture.
