190821-N-LQ653-1886 SAN DIEGO (Aug. 21, 2019) Coast Guardsmen assigned to Maritime Safety Response Team (MSRT) West use a saw to breach a shipping container door aboard Aerial Target Launch Ship (ATLS-9701) while conducting helicopter visit, board, search & seizure (HVBSS) training operations off the coast of San Diego. MSRT West is training with several squadrons from Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Pacific to board and secure vessels that may be held by terrorists holding hostages.
