The bridge at the beginning of the Norwottuck Rail Trail in Northampton is a former railroad bridge converted to a bicycle/pedestrian path connecting the towns of Northampton, Hadley, Amherst, and Belchertown. Cross country skiiers use the path in winter. Viewed here in winter, frost is visible on support structures, and the lines of the bridge lead to a misty, uncertain point in the distance.
