The earliest, or 1854 machine, was destroyedbefore any picture of the same was obtained, but Fig. 57 is afair representation thereof with the exception of the cuttingap])aratus, which was somewhat difl^erent, and is shownclearly in Fig. 58. Fig. 59 shows the machine as used for mowing in same macliine was also used for reaping, the platformand reel not being shown in the illustration.
