This image may not be used to state or imply endorsement by CERN of any product, activity or service Richard Feynman (1918-88), American theoretical physicist, gives a lecture at CERN, the European particle physics laboratory outside Geneva. Feynman shared the 1965 Nobel prize for physics with Sinitiro Tomonaga of Japan and Julian Schwinger of the US for their independent contributions to quantum electrodynamics, or QED, the theory that describes the electromagnetic interactions of subatomic particles.
