' ARMSTRONG, Per. (A German-Seedling.) This variety came from Germany, about 10 years ago. It has been controlled by three or four German Fruit Growers. I have been watching this New German berry for the past 6 years. It is the largest and most productive berry grown. I have seen several crates of ihem, with ten to twelve berries to a quart box. They sold on the market for 10 to 15 cents per quart, while other berries sold for 4 to 6 cents per quart. This variety is from medium to late. It needs no fertilizing as it is a perfect blossom variety. One of the German Fruit Growers, had one-Quarter of an acre this year. He picked at one picking 384 quarts ; and the total amount of his crop this season was 1996 quarts. That would be about 8000 quarts per acre, at 12 cents per quart would be $960 per acre. Does it pay to grow small berries. Price 35 cents per doz., post paid ; $1 per Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readability - coloration and appearance of these illustrations may not perfectly resemble the original Woodlawn Nurseries; Wood, Allen L; Henry G.
