Thencomes a long and large patch of the larger kind ofMegasea cordifolia, several yards in length, and runningback here and there among taller plants. I am nevertired of admiring the fine solid foliage of this familyof plants, remaining, as it does, in beauty both winterand summer, and taking on a splendid winter colour-ing of warm red bronze. It is true that the flowers ofthe two best-known kinds, M. cordifolia and M. crassi-foli
