A percussion schuetzen target rifle, Jean Siber, Lausanne, circa 1860 Heavy octagonal barrel with patent breechplate and eight-groove rifled bore in 10 mm calibre, globe sight, dioptre and lateral bayonet stud at muzzle. On barrel rib marked in silver "ACIER FONDU". Smooth percussion lock with needle set trigger and signature "Jean Siber". Walnut half stock with horn nose, screwable hand rest and smooth iron furniture. On the side opposite the lock inlaid silver plate monogrammed "J C I". Original iron ramrod. Length 124 cm.
