The Chinese Naval replenishment ship, Chaohu, pictured from the bridge wing of the assault ship Chang Bai Shan at Portsmouth Royal Navy Base today. The ships are involved in the first visit by the Chinese Navy to the UK since 2007 and the largest ever. They are accompanied by the frigate Yun Cheng. The ships arrived in Portsmouth 24 hours early due to the expected bad weather. The Royal Navy statement stated that the five day formal visit is aimed at enhancing military understanding between the UK and China. Picture date Monday 12th January, 2015.
