MetLife Tower, near Madison Square Park, originally HQ of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Designed by the architectural firm of Napoleon LeBrun & Sons in 1909, the 700ft, 51 stories tall building was modelled on the campanile at St. Mark's Square in Venice. When constructed, it was the tallest building in the world.
