Accordingly, in July, 1974,when I was on holiday in Connemara, I collected a numberof these mines at Ballynahinch and bred 25 adults during theensuing month. The imagines resembled those in the Fletchercollection. Compared with specimens of S. salicis bred fromSalix caprea and S. cinerea in England, they are smaller and thewings appear relatively longer and narrower. Whereas in the
