June 12,2024: The 40-year-old ferry GNV Azzurra hosts hundreds of police officers transferred from cruise ship Goddess of the Night, originally chartered to house more than 2,000 security members during G7 summit in Brindisi, Italy, but that is detained by Italian justice due to Carabinieri union allegations about hygiene & accommodation problems on board the 20-year-old vessel. Known as Costa Magica, the cruise ship was sold to Greek holding Seajets in 2023. Shortly renamed Mykonos Magic, the ship is planned to start new career in July with Neonyx Cruises.
