Prompt A Successful Dry Kiln Here's what a manufacturer of pianos and organs says of a Kiln: "We have two dry-kilns which are operated in this , one along side of the other; one in which we place the green lumber that is shipped us, what is usually called shipping dry. This stock is all steamed before the suction fan is placed on it. The other kiln we use for lumber that has been on stick on our yard for from one to two years, and on this we do not apply any steam, simply running it through in about ten days for immedi- ate use. The green lumber, however, in the other kiln is steamed several days and is put through drying apparatus for about three weeks before it is taken out.
