Reciting "I Have a Dream" A 5th grade student from Watkins Elementary School in Washington, DC, recites her portion of the 'I Have a Dream' speech from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, January 16, 2015.   Watkins 5th graders have been honoring Dr. King this way every year since 2004.   Each of the approximately 120 students came to the microphone to recite a sentence or phrase from the speech. The entire performance took about 20 minutes - the same as Martin Luther King, Jr., when he first delivered the address from these steps in 1963.
