To celebrate the two hundred and fiftieth year of its settlement, Newark will this year have a grand series of events, beginning in May and continu- ing until October. The program lias not yet been issued, but it will neces- sarily be a long one, including his- torical parades, races, athletic games, trade exhibits, etc. We understand that the Broad street merchants, in- cluding the florists, will take an active part. A city that is two hundred and fifty years old and that is racing up to the half-million mark in population, should give us a good show, and we have no doubt that it will.
