Once upona time, Brother Brigham was a Methodist ; but after listeningto the preaching of the Mormon Missionaries he became avile apostate—as he loves to call those who leave his presentfaith—and he forsook Methodism. In those days, before heapostatised, and long before he ever dreamed of Polygamy, hehad but one wife—one only ! It must seem strange to theProphet to look back to that period of solitary existence. Hissecond wife was Mrs. Angell Young ; and I call her his firstwife because she is the first of those living now.
