It is indeed cheering to receive a let- ter such as the following: Ann Arbor, Mich., March 24, 1920. My dear Mr. Young: At our convention held in I^msing laBt week, a donation to the na- tional publicity campaign was auggeated. As this is the first year of our organization, our treasury would hardly stand a suitable donation to this worthy cause. Neyertheless, we were able to raise $127, by popular subscription, which I herewith enclose. Please credit this to the Michigan State Florists' Association. I trust uiat in the years to come this association will be able to support this campaign to a far greater degree. Respectfully yours, W. S. Wells, treas- urer Michigan State Florists' Association. At the recent meeting of the pub- licity committee in New York a num- ber of specimen page advertisements in colors, appearing during the last few weeks in the magazines, were offered for inspection. These advertisements were inserted by different manufac- turers and flowers were featured in con- nection with the specialties advertised, dependeBce on the flowers for attrac- tion to the advertisements being most obvious. A well known hat manufac- turer, whose issue of handsome poster cards drawing attention to a particular make of hats has long been a feature of his advertising, is using a poster showing no pictorial design other than a basket of spring flowers. This is truly &q
