EXCELSIOR GREENHOUSES and oak leaves, completed with ribbons and gilt braid. A silver vase of mig- nonette and yellow pompons, and a framed corsage aroused much com- ment. The corsage was of small Ophelia rose buds, maidenhair fern and cypripediuiiis, surrounded by small yel- low and blue corsage feathers. Turners that elicited considerable praise were exhibited by Gude Bros. Co., Washington, both white and pink being shown. A collection of 5-foot American Beauties was also exhibited by the concern, together with a basket of Sweetheart roses and one of white chrysantliemums and oak leaves. Both the dinner and the exhibition were highly commended l)y the visiting florists, and will undoubtedly result in a closer contact between the trade and the college in the future. T. N. S. ROCHESTER, N. Y. The Market. Business was not up to its usual stand- ard last week. Tliere were a large )uuubcr of funerals and weddings, with several social affairs, but they were mostly of minor order, and the (juantity of flowers used was not heavy. There is every indication, however, that busi- ness within a short time will be good. Stock last week was good and fairly plentiful, but shortened up consider- ably at the end of the week.
