Thebook itself formed a souvenir of the journey. The hotelkeepers expressed themselves in words of highest praise forthis dining-car service, the equal of which they had never seen surpassedin any hotel, restaurant or club. The quality of the foods, the perfectionof the cooking, and the smoothness of the service marked the highest devel-opment of dining-car catering. The breakfasts were served a la carte.
