A German snakeskin beaker with coin lid,dated 1723 Silver,partly gilt,slightly conical beaker. The sides finely punched in a snakeskin pattern and,as well as the bottom engraved with three cartouches showing the allegoric symbols for faith,love and hope. Over them inscription scrolls "Glaube recht an Gott"(Believe in God),"Hoffe fest in Noth"(Hope in times of despair)and "Liebe bisz in Todt"(Love till death). On the bottom also a monogram with the date "EP 1723 GH". The lid with a decorative coin soldered into the centre(a so-called Braunschweiger Lö,Additional-Rights-Clearences-Not Available
