The increasingpopularity of the Golf Links at length led to the floatingof a Tramways Company; and, recognising that it was astep in the right direction, several shareholders investedwith the faintest hope of obtaining any pecuniary has, however, been well patronised from the first day ofopening. There is a frequent serviceof trams ; and the Harbour Commissioners Ferry is situatedirectly opposite the Camber Station. • Point Hill. This is entirely a new appellation, and, although origin-ally given by Mr. R. T. Blomfield, , the well-knownarchitect, to his local residence, it now popularly embracesthe block of handsome buildings recently erected on theplateau to ihe right of Rye Hill. These commandadmirable sea and land views, and excite wonderment inthe minds of somnolent Ryers of a past generation, whichis intensified when the formerly picturesque Hilly Fieldslower down
