BERRY BROTHERS, of Detroit, showed highly varnishedpanels in light and dark finishes. The booth was tastefully fitted upfor reception purposes, and the railway men who called were given aleather-covered memorandum book as a reminder of the companysline. Harry Frost was in charge of the exhibit. THE ROOT TRACK SCRAPER COMPANY, of Kalamazoo,Mich., was late in completing its exhibits, as the goods were lost. The line included several varieties of track new type, known as No. 5, is designed to clean all the snow frombetween the rails, and 9 ins. outside, throwing it away from thecenter, and at the same time cleans the top of the rail and thegroove, being in fact a practical and inexpensive snow-plow, de-signed to clean the tracks of several inches of snow. The springsand plates are made of open hearth steel of the best quality, and willstand a great deal of heavy work and hard usage. The operation isby lever, giving a greater variation than the old plan of wheel ope-ration. The double device is handled by one man as easily as thesingle machine. The arrangement and tension of the springs issuch that it will operate satisfactorily on rough roads, as well assmooth pavement.
