Some interesting subjects are now peepingup on the rockery, one of the prettiest beingAnemone angulosa, and the old favourite ofcountry gardens, Hepaticas, which, when plantedin clumps, is very effective; but I havefound by experience that when left alone anumber of years the flowers are more now, the pink, white, and blue are quitecharming. Narcissus minimus is a very strikingflower, and it shows to perfection in warm bifolia grows about 4 inches high, and isvery pretty, and the sunshine of the past weekhas caused them to open their flowers, which areblue in colour, so^^wdiat earlier than usual. Fournier, of St. Barnabe,near Marseilles, a third hybrid (from C. Gaskel-liana x L. tenebrosa), the inverse to the othercross, and this I named x Orpetiana The sepals and petals of this arecream-white, and much flushed with bright rose,especially towards the tip ; the lip is brightviolet-pxirple, with fine yellow lines on the Cogniaux.
