[Chap. 31.]. .9 o ^ So « ; H ia ?* O » [3d Sess.] Province Laws.—1742-43. 61 And be it further enacted, [Sect. 2.] That the treasurer do forthwith send out his warrantsdirected to the selectmen or assessors of each town or district withinthis province, requiring them, respectively, to assess the sum herebyset upon such town or district in manner following; that is to say, toassess all rateable male polls above the age of sixteen j-ears at fourshillings and twopence per poll, and proportionably in assessing thefines mentioned in this act, and the additional sum receivd out of thetreasur}^ for the payment of the representatives (except the governour,lieutenant-governour and their families, the president, fellows andstudents of Harvard College, setled ministers and grammar school-masters who are hereby exempted, as well from being taxed for theirpolls as for their estates,
