Panoramic view of the Bar village in Cadí mountain range Catalonia, Spain, Pyrenees. Bar is an aggregate village in the municipality of Pont de Bar (Alt Urgell), located halfway up a buttress located on the north side of the Sierra del Cadí, at an altitude of 1,181 meters. There are currently 28 people registered (2006). It is located kilometers from Toloriu, in the so-called Baridà sub-region, a land of transition between Urgellet (Alt Urgell) and Cerdanya. The nucleus is presided over by the church of Sant Esteve, very modified with respect to the original Romanesque temple. Nearby, on a small hill that surrounds the nucleus of houses, are the few remains of the old castle of Bar, which together with the neighboring castles of Aristotle and Toloriu served as a defense at the entrance to the Cerdanya . Also in the main square of the town, right in front of the church, you can find a large laundry room. Also note a small beamed passage under one of the houses on one of the streets that descend from the church.
