A replica World War 2 Hawker Hurricane of the Royal Air Force goes on display near York Minster, to commemorate the anniversary of the "York Blitz", a Luftwaffe air raid on the city of York on the night of April 29th 1942. The bombers were attacked and replused by Hurricane fighters of 253 Squadron and the raid was one of Germany's so-called "Baedecker" raids on historic British cities.
