Verity

This 66 foot bronze-clad sculpture named Verity, stands on the stone pier in Ilfracombe Harbour, North Devon. It is on a 20 year loan from the world famous artist Damien Hirst. It was erected on 16th October 2012 giving residents and visitors a talking point. THe statue is of a pregnant woman holding a sword with one side of her displaying her insides. She is standing on legal books which is meant to be a modern allegory of truth and justice, while she holds a sword and scales.
