From Penn Bottom the path ascends to the weather-beaten village of Penn itself, on the top of the THE TOP OF THE HILL :The Village Inn, Penn. Penn Church is a plain old structure of rubble andflint, originally early English in style and dating from1213. The chancel, added in 1736, contains the onlystained-glass window, filled in during the followingyear. This parish church, however, is interesting inother memorials of the dead, mural monuments by 42 IN ENGLANDS PENNSYLVANIA Chantrey, old hatchments, and ancient brasses. Thepilgrim who has no access to family archives can heremuse over the historic names of Penn, Howe, andCurzon. It should be stated that William Pennsfather.
