Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Nicholas Smolen, a Manitowoc, Wis. native and radiology specialist with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 334th Infantry Regiment (Training Support Battalion), 95th Training Division (Initial Entry Training), manuevers through a Warrior Training Task lane during the 108th Training Command (IET) 2017 Best Warrior Competition at Camp Bullis, Texas, March 19-24, 2017. Smolen was inspired to serve in the military by his grandfater who served in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart.
