Length (fresh) 5| inches, wing 2|, taU 2|, tarsus |. (^Lawrence.) Sexes alike (Ober). Two specimens marked as females do not differ in plumage from the males. Dark olive-brown above, lighter below, and where the white markings are in the adult it is of a pale dull rufous ; on the throat showing some white, and around the eye partially white; the marks on the end of the tail-feathers are precisely as in the black specimen; the quills are dark brown ; the tail-feathers are black.
