The Gemini Residence - a residential building designed by MVRDV on the Islands Brygge Waterfront in the inner harbour of of Copenhagen

The Gemini Residence - a residential building on the Islands Brygge Waterfront in the port of Copenhagen designed upon two old silos by MVRDV - a Netherland based global operating architecture and urbanism practice. The building has been created by converting two former seed silos. Two concrete silos from 1963 - 42 metres tall and 25 metres wide - built by a former Soy Bean Cake Factory (animal feed) - have formed the infrastructure in this spectacular building from 2002-05. Find more details on the Internet in Wikipedia. Islands Brygge is Danish for Iceland Quay - a former neglected industrial and dockland area in the harbour, since 2000 it has undergone massive redevelopment and has become a fashionable and attractive neighbourhood.
