At any rate, it is a very large and handsome fruit, a good bearer, and of excellent quality in all respects. It is yet little known in the United States, but deserves extensive orchard culture. Fruit of the largest size, conical, flattened; rather irregular, with projecting ribs; broad at the base, narrowing towards the eye, four inches in diameter, and -three deep. Skin greenish- yellow, slightly washed with brown on the sunny sidcj sprinkled with dots a,nd russet patches. Stalk short, inserted in a wide hollow. Calyx short and large, set in a rather deep, irregular basin. Flesh nearly white, rather firm, juicy, with a rich, lively, «ub-acid flavour.
