These hand drawings of Leonardo da Vinci show drafts for a knight monument. Leonardo received the order twice to carry out such an assignment, first from Ludovico il Moro for Francesco Sforza and second for Ludwig XII for Marshall Trivulzio. Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci (1452-1519) was an Italian polymath of the High Renaissance who was active as a painter, draughtsman, engineer, scientist, theorist, sculptor, and architect.
