Barnard's "Shady-Place" Lawn Grass Seed On nearly all lawns there are shaded, bare and unsightly spots on which the owners have diffi- culty in getting a stand of grass; for such places this mixture is adapted. It is composed of dwarf- growing grasses which are found naturally growing in such places. Should the ground have become "sour" or drainage defective, it is apt to be covered with moss. If such is the case, the moss should first be removed by the use of a sharp toothed rake, then give a liberal sprinkling of wood ashes, lime or land plaster to sweeten the soil; stir thoroughly into the surface soil and then sow â Barnard's "Shady-Place" Grass Seed at the rate of one pound for 300 square feet, or 75 pounds to 100 pounds to the acre for a new lawn; for old lawns sow seed in proportion, according to the conditions.
