He attended the Plattsburg Training Camp in 1916, and was amember of the Yale Battery. He enlisted in the AirService at Boston, Mass., Dec. 11, 1917. He began his training at the Ground School, Cornell University,Ithaca, , in Feb., 1918; in March he was transferred to CampDick, Dallas, Tex., and from there was sent to Payne Field, WestPoint, Miss., where he was commissioned 2d Lieut., Aug. 20, was assigned to the Armorers School, Wilbur Wright Field,Dayton, Ohio, in Sept., 1918, and from there he was transferred toField No. 2, Garden City, On Dec. 18,1918, he was honorablydischarged at Garden City, N
