Becauseof the displacement of the radial lower fragment, the normal rela-tions are no longer maintained between the styloid processes ofthe radius and ulna. There is a reversal of relations. Theradial styloid is higher than usual. It is on the same level withor higher than the head of the ulna. 224 FRACTURES OF THE BONES OF THE FOREARM It is possible to have present a fracture of the lower end ofthe radius (a Colles fracture) without any appreciable alterationin the levels of the styloid processes. The existence of thenormal relations of the styloids does not preclude the presenceof a fracture. Lower radial fragment r
