Some of thespecies are marine, whilst others occur in fresh water; a verybeautiful form, the C. clypeus, exists in such abundance in theinfusorial stratum discovered by Ehrenberg at Soos, near Ezer. inBohemia, that the earth seems almost entirely composed of it.
