This wall painting showing Dionysus enthroned, with a dog sitting beside the throne, was found in Pompeii's House of Naviglio.

Dionysus was the ancient Greek and Roman god of wine and merrymaking. The Romans also worshiped him as the god of agriculture and the theater. His Roman name was Bacchus. This wall painting showing Dionysus enthroned, with a dog sitting beside the throne, was found in the House of Naviglio (or House of the Ship), which is considered one of the most ancient houses in Pompeii in terms of construction techniques of its outside walls. Pompeii was an Italian town buried by Vesuvius when it erupted in 79.
