In the winter the eggs may be easily removed and destroyedwhile pruning the trees. The treatment of these pests closely re-sembles that for the Gypsy Moth, to which they are nearly re-lated. Where trees have been cleaned of etriis and neighboringtrees are badly infested, which will usually occur only with theWhite-marked Tussock ]\Ioth in New Hampshire, they may beprotected by banding with bodlime, tanglefoot, printers ink onpaper, or any similar sticky substance over which the caterpillarscannot crawl in ascending the tree, and which Avill no
