Uranographia Britannica title page. This star atlas, by the 18th century British physician and amateur astronomer John Bevis, was intended to be published in 1750, but the publisher went bankrupt. When Bevis died in 1771, the star charts were sold at auction, and now only a few copies remain in astronomical libraries.
