Middleham Castle, Wensleydale, Yorkshire Dales. The castle is associated with the powerful Neville family, including Richard Nevile, known as the Kingmaker. It was the home of Richard III and his wife Anne Neville. It fell into ruin and was partly dismantled during the 17th and 18th centuries, but the Norman keep is still one of the largest in England.
