The water must never be heated in the Catasauqua Kettle, butmust be heated m some other vessel, and when not too hot to burn thehand, poured into the water compartment provided the dynamitecompartment is empty. It is dangerous to heat the water in theCatasauqua Kettle even when the dynamite section is empty, becausethere may be a little nitro-glycerin in it which has soaked out of thedynamite previously thawed. Water may be heated in the outerpail of the Bradford Kettle if the inner pail has been removed.
